CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY

Feel Better, Move Easier, Live More

At East Cornwall Osteopathy, we know how frustrating it feels when pain starts holding you back—whether it’s from your back, neck, shoulders, hips, or elsewhere. Too often, people are told to “wait it out” or rely on painkillers, leaving them stuck, worried, and no further forward. Here, you’ll finally feel heard and supported. Osteopathy offers over 400 gentle, hands-on techniques designed to ease pain, improve movement, and support your body’s natural healing. We take the time to properly assess your joints, muscles, nerves, and how your body moves—then explain it clearly in plain English. No jargon. No guesswork. Just real answers and a treatment plan that fits into your life.

Whether you’re struggling with long-standing back pain, stiff or sore joints, or nerve irritation that makes daily life difficult, you don’t need to accept this as your “new normal.” With hands-on treatment, clinical Pilates-based rehabilitation, and personalised advice, we’ll work together to restore confidence in your body. Our goal is simple: to help you stay active, independent, and free to enjoy the life you’ve worked hard for—without pain dictating your every move.

Cranial Osteopathy in Cornwall | Gentle Osteopathic Therapy

What is Cranial Osteopathy?

Using a highly trained sense of touch to feel subtle changes of tension and tissue quality in the living anatomy of the whole body, and to diagnose areas of strain or dysfunction. Osteopathy is becoming increasingly popular throughout the world as it has been proven to help thousands of people. Many people visit their osteopath because they cannot manage their physical pain through medication.

Cranial osteopaths partners up with the nervous system of their client, together they find the holds where the unnecessary tension can slowly relax. In these positions of ease, which are different for everyone, subtle changes in tissue quality happen. Some of the relaxing holds that Osteopaths use also have the benefit of promoting the circulation of both cerebral spinal fluid as well as aid in the drainage of lymph.

Cranial Osteopathy does not..

Cranial Osteopathy is a very subtle technique, that has been refined for over a century.

Cranial does NOT:

  • Manually manipulate the bones of the skull

  • try to force tense tissue to relax (with stretches or joint cracks.)

  • Rush the process (it can take upto 25 minutes for tissue to slowly relax)

  • Only treat babies who have malleable skulls

  • Just treat the head

Is Cranial Therapy Safe?

Cranial Osteopathy only uses delicate and gentle techniques that work through subtle mechanisms. So you can rest assured that it is one of the safest treatments we can have.

Adam is an excellent and professional practitioner! I had problems with my back, chest and neck. Wish I had found him a long time ago! Adan is able to find the problem and target it straight away in order to relieve the problem. Adam is easy to talk to, he is able to offer solid advice on how to reduce pain and it happening again and give clear instructions on exercises. Adam was able to identify that I was also not breathing correctly and was able to show me ways to do this properly which I notice a dramatic difference! I have had back problems for years trying all sorts of treatments and medication with not much success. After my first visit to Adam he took great care to listen to me problems and was very clued up on his knowledge. After ,y treatment I could really feel that Adam had worked my bad area with manipulation and I had instant relief. Adam showed me an exercise that I have never been shown before to practice daily to which is hoping me greatly. I left really understanding the pain I have been in for years and have booked my next session. Felt very comfortable and Adam put me at ease. Excellent service and affordable – Thank you so much.
